Grayson is FIVE!

Its Birthday season in the our house! Five just seems so old. For you Grayson, 5 means Kindergarten, which won't happen until fall but it still seems way to close for me. You have become so independent in many ways, and your even excited to go to Kindergarten, which of course, makes me happy but also hurts my heart a little. Sending another child off to school seems unreal and I am just not ready. You have also decided that your going to give up "D" most of the time. I cannot believe this one. That Blankie has followed you for FIVE years and now your dissing it, just another sign of you growing up. Along with growing up, you are testing your boundaries and your voice ALOT lately. Its been a struggle to say the least. We are muddling through it all. I am learning new ways to help you cope when you get angry. Right now you like to hit, kick, and scream. Somehow, even though we have some pretty rotten days where I would just like to start over, you are just so amazing. I love all of you, even all of those spunky, fireball moments!

This year you have a new love for Lego's and mommy and daddy love putting them together with you....sometimes we even try to take over because we are having so much fun. You stop that abruptly though! This year you have mastered writing your name. I was so worried for the longest time because any time I would attempt to teach you to write letters, you would sit for about 1 min and then say "this is boring", and "this is too hard" Lo and behold, one day you just did it! And you keep doing it. I'm so proud! You have a new love for preschool but a new dislike for daycare. You protest each and every morning that you have to go. You have even faked illness so you could stay in bed all day with mommy and play the iPad. (Don't forget when your older and reading this, that I worked 3 nights a week as a nurse and slept during the day....I wasn't just sleeping all day for no reason! lol)

You still want to be a fireman when you grow up, your best friend and worst enemy is Brock. You two love and fight like brothers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is your "thing" right now and your mighty ninja moves are quite fantastic. Exploring in the woods and riding bikes makes you the happiest.

This year for your birthday you chose Kalahari and we invited Brock and Brayden along. It was so much fun! We had to leave Grant behind at nana and papa's because you were FINALLY tall enough to do most of the slides and mommy and daddy didn't dare miss this opportunity to ride them with you. We had a blast and I secretly hope that we do this again for your 6th Birthday. I love you to the moon and back son!

Veda is 7!!

7 going on 17 that is! Oh my, this year has been great. It's had its ups and downs as you are testing a lot of boundaries but certainly we have had a lot more good times than bad. Your still as sassy as ever and know exactly what you want, how you want it, and when you want it! You are an excellent student and you wow me with your ever expanding vocabulary and ability to read. One of the things I enjoy doing most with you is reading chapter books at bedtime. I hope we read lots more this year!
You have a new love of Lego's and have, since Christmas mastered putting them together pretty quickly! Other toys you enjoy playing with are Littlest Pet Shop and Polly Pocket. You spend WAY to much time on the iPad and always want to watch tv. You and Grayson love to watch silly shows on you tube....Jillian and Addy's Candy Review, watching people open Surprise eggs, etc. goofballs! One of these days I am going to video the two of you trying different candy so you can create your own show!
The theme of your birthday this year was Disney's "Frozen" which we have watched a gazillion times and you know every single word to every single song! you asked for Elsa and Anna to be at your party but I had to tell you that I couldn't afford them, you were upset but you were content knowing we would have your first slumber party to celebrate. Little did you know I have a surprise in store for you! Mommy worked an extra shift to be able to afford Elsa to come to the party. You were so surprised! It was a priceless moment for me. Nothing makes me happier than when the three of you are smiling.
You had 7 friends join your sleepover....Karleigh, Kiera, Emma, Marlow, Miley, Taeya, and Rori.  We enjoyed singing, crafting, Pin the nose on Olaf, Photo Booth, and of course watching Frozen. I'm pretty sure you had the time of your life!
As I always say, I wish time could slow down, but I do enjoy watching you grow into the little lady that you are. I'm sure this next year will be awesome. I love you to the moon and back!
