V&G's First Dentist Appointment!

I felt like the crazy camera lady hauling my D90 into the dentist office but my P&S is broken and I wasn't about to miss this first! I thought it was going to be a bit of a nightmare but I was pleasantly surprised. Veda loved it. She was so excited to tell the dentist that she is a big girl, and brushes her teeth so that she doesn't get any cavities. I could not capture Grayson because I had to hold him. He didn't want anything to do with it but he didn't throw too much of a fit and they were fast with him. Considering I loathe going to the dentist, this was a great experience for the kids and I hope they will never be afraid like I was as a kid. I highly recommend taking children to a pediatric dentist if possible. They were wonderful with my kids. Veda thought she was soooo cool because they gave her sun glasses to "block the sunlight on the ceiling" aka overhead light! They spoke on her level to make her understand what they were doing. I love watching adults communicate with children the way they did. :)

Don't mind my auto mode! I wasn't about to miss this memory trying to perfect the settings.......which I have done before!

Taking a moment to breathe

and enjoy my littles. As mentioned before life has been crazy for a while adjusting to a new job but things are finally settling down and I can breathe. I will have a normal 3 day a week schedule starting next week! Thank goodness!! Yesterday while Grayson was napping, Veda and I decided to make some cookies. She was beyond thrilled and wanted to do it all by herself. We all know she is miss independent! So I got everything out for her and walked her through the steps.

She had a blast....and so did I!

Spring?

Perhaps spring has sprung! What a gorgeous few days we have had. It reached the mid sixties yesterday and I took advantage of this weather to get the kids out for some fun!

Veda was very eager to hit the park and Grayson was very unsure and shed a few tears in the process. He was not thrilled with the way grass felt under his feet and it took him a few minutes to explore. Once he realized it was fun he enjoyed himself, and fun was had by all!

March Madness!

That is how March if feeling to me and my family! We have cabin fever and are really ready for spring! Life has been extremely busy for the past couple weeks. I am in my 3rd week of orientation. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and feel like I am having mini panic attacks the whole time I am working! My patients are very ill and this makes them a little extra scary to work with! All and all it is going well and I am learning new things every day.

I have also kept up with my desire to learn and practice photography. What an enjoyable...but expensive hobby! I am having a blast with it.....the kids on the other hand....I think they are annoyed!

Speaking of new, Mr. Grayson is also learning new things everyday. In the last week he has been able to, when asked, identify where his nose, ears, and head are. This is so adorable! Although many times he sticks his finger up his nose! Another milestone is that he is bottle free...as of today. He weened himself from nursing at 11 months and started using a sippy, and just didn't master it too well. I continued a bottle at night time with plans of taking it away by a year. He had other plans! Just this week he has really grasped the idea of the sippy cup and taking a liking to it and actually getting enough to drink and so I didn't give him the night time bottle and he didn't care one bit! What a big boy. bittersweet.

Miss Veda is doing great and learning a lot as well. She is really recognizing the alphabet and learning the sounds. Its really neat to see her light up when she see's a letter that she recognizes somewhere out in public, whether it be a letter on a product at the grocery store or a letter on a street sign. She will say something like "mommy, there is a T!!!! ta ta ta ......CAT! lol. So cute! I don't correct her just yet, she is having so much fun learning and I am not going to discourage her! Veda, mommy is so proud of the big girl you have become but can you please stay small a little longer?

The hubby is doing well too, he is also dipping into the photography world and trying to soak up as much knowledge as he can. I am sure we will be fighting over the camera in no time!

5 years already?

Since the day I said "I do" to my soul mate. Some days it seems as though we have been together forever, you know those days I am talking about, right? The come home from work with a sink full of dishes, dirty floor, and kids still in their pajamas kind of day? The days where I trip over clothes that were left on the floor or shoes that were taken off right in front of the walk way kind of day? He is the man that can make me turn crazy in 2.2 seconds.....but he is also the man that can be so thoughtful and caring and turn my worst day into my best day. We complement each other. He completes me. I love you Joe! Here's to many, many, more years together!

Here we are........5 years ago!
